How old is your cat in human years?
Do you think cats age 7 human years for every year they live? Not exactly. Early in life a cat matures much more rapidly than a person. A cat that is one year old is already full grown and a female cat could have already given birth to a litter and nursed and weaned the kittens. So a one year old cat is like a 20 year old person. Late in life cats mature at a much slower rate than seven to one when compared to people. 20 year old cats are not uncommon but a 140 year old person is unheard of. So use this formula to figure out how old your cat is in “people years”. For the first year, give your cat 20 human years and for every year thereafter add 4 years. So the 11year old is 60 (20 + (10x4)) in people years.
Cat’s vision
Do you think cats or people have better vision? Most people will say cats do but it really depends on what kind of vision we are talking about. Cats have evolved from wild, predatory ancestors whose vision is adapted solely for their main mission in life which is to catch prey. So cats have better night vision, better peripheral vision and better vision to sense movement. People on the other hand have better color vision and can focus better to see fine detail.
Cat’s sense of taste
Cats completely lack the ability to taste the “sweet” taste sensation.
